Days of island hopping can be pretty exhausting, and I didn’t want it to be the type of holidays after which you need another holidays to recover. After exploring l islands, jungles, volcanos,
,mudbathing, swimming with turtles I felt ready for a lazy day at the beach, and Saint Kitts was a perfect place – relaxed and charming.
Being probably less popular and crowded than other islands we have visited, Saint Kitts absolutely stands out, for its naturally relaxed intoxicating beauty and also for NOT having white sand powdery beaches – the signature feature of the Caribbean islands.
The beaches are composed of a mixture of white coral sand with brown and black sand which was eroded and washed down from the volcanic rocks that make up the island.
Aloe vera plants grow all over the place, you can also get a massage on the beach, the girls break off a leaf and squeeze the juice on your back…wonderful
The Berkeley Memorial in Historic Basseterre must be one of the most famous sights
