Wreaths are probably the most traditional decor items for every holiday and season and for sure one of my favorites. They create the atmosphere of home and coziness. For this Christmas I made 2 : one for outside and one for inside.

IMG_1348For the first (and not the most traditional one) I was using : a wreath form, peacock feathers, feather boa(2), pins. It took me only 15 minutes or so and it wasn’t a messy project at all! 🙂

Pin the boa around the form ( I did about 3 layers to cover the whole form from the inside as well) You can use hot glue gun but pins make less mess and you can always take the boas off the wreath and use them for something else if you like.

Untitled-12. Pin the feathers to the wreath (any bright ornament would work great!)

IMG_9872IMG_1348The second wreath was more difficult and messy to make! I decided to use pine cones. I also needed a flat wreath form, hot glue gun ( be ready to go through a LOT of glue!) spray paint and the little dry flowers and cinnamon sticks

IMG_1351I spray painted the pine cones and glued them to the form.It sounds super easy but, honestly, it was a real hell! To make the surface of a pine cone even( so it could actually stick to the form) I had to cut and peel off,if I can say so, almost each pine cone, some with the scissors, some with my hands.

After one and a half layers and torture,I couldn’t do it anymore, and decided to glue the dry flowers and cinnamon sticks to add the colour and cover the space that the damn pine cones were supposed to cover:)Putting these tiny flowers was the best part of the project, no doubt!

christmas trees diy

I’m sure I’m not the only one who hasn’t decorated the house for Christmas yet 🙂 I love using the handmade decor along with the stuff you can buy in stores as it gives your house a very personal touch and creates a unique atmosphere.

Here are the Christmas trees I’ve done for home and office.

For the first pair you need

Christmas tree form ( Crafts stores will have plenty)

Piece of cloth

Pins and decorations to your taste,I was using little pom poms and bows

christmas trees diy

1. Wrap the cloth around the form and secure it with pins.A lot of pins. The good thing about using pins here is that you can take them out anytime and reuse the form again 🙂

2. Pin the pom poms, sequins and all the decorations you want on the tree.

3. Pin the bow to the top of the tree and it’s ready!

For these ones I used 3 shapes of different sizes

Sparkly cloth

Bows and pins

christmas trees (1)

I did the exact same thing as with the green ones, but I did not add any decorations, exept for the bows.

Again you’ll need lots and lots of pins!

DIY autumn halloween decorations, glitter pumpkins, no-carve pumpkins, painted pumpkins

Making  autumn home decorations yourself is extremely easy and fun! They turn out fabulous and you can be as creative as you want  in design and colors. Here are some ideas of what you can do using pumpking, glitter and paint and step by step instructions.

Spider box

I used : 2 medium sized pumpkins, white and black paint, crystals, spiders, glitter, a busket and hay.

1. After washing the pumpkins cover them with paint- acrylic or spray (I used black and white, the white one took 2 coats) and let them dry

2.Glue crystals on in the shape of a spyder web,I used long strypes of crystals and it only took me about 10 minutes to make this spyder web, plus it wasn’t messy at all(as it would have been using a glue gun!)

3. Put some glue on the stem and add glitter

4. Glue the spider to the side of the pumpkin and it’s all ready!

I put both of them in the busket that I spray-painted myself and added a couple of spiders,to give it a more Halloween look

Glitter pumpkins

There is nothing easier than to make glitter pumpkins. At the same time it’s the messiest project and the process can be quite a destruction for your home so make sure you use a newspaper or a piece of carton to work on,some disposable plates and be super careful with these glitter,it tends to stay all over the place

I used: 5 little pumpkins, glitter,glue , a busket and hay.

1. After washing the pumpkin, put glue all over it( it may be a little tricky so when chosing a pumpkin for the project take the one with the longer stem)

2. Immediatelly cover it with the glitter (I was using a plate to put the glitter leftovers back to the bottle)

3.Paint the stem( I chose the bronze colour) and let everything dry

Painted pumpkins

This is where you can be as creative as you want, and shades, styles, pictures…

1. Spray paint the pumpkin and let it dry

2. Using acrylic paint draw a cat’s face (for example) and look at how I did it – you DON’T have to be a great artist!

3.Make ears by cutting out 2 triangles and glue them to the pumpkin.

I did the same process with the other one exept I made it a witch face and put a witch hat on.

The rest I just spray painted with different colours and covered some of them with glitter
